Environment in different weather conditions Milestone 1 presentation Lisa Hellström

Purpose The purpose of this project is to learn how to create an environment from scratch and then figure out how to change the weather conditions or seasons in the scene. I think the biggest challenge will be to make the transitions from one weather/season condition to another in the scene in a way that looks natural. Goal The goal is to create a short (circa 40 seconds) film clip of my scene where the weather and camera angle is changing over time. PROJECT GOALS Sun  rain  ice  snow

MILESTONES Milestone 1 Project Plan, Research document 1: What do I need to research? Milestone 2 Research document 2, Maya scene modelled. Milestone 3 Finished film clip.

THE SCENE Based on a real street. No cars. Add cobblestones. Old fashioned street light. Add bicycle. Hedges, iron fence. Add small Tree.

MATERIALS Specular map? Reflection? Colour? Snow/water on surface?

PARTICLE EFFECTS Rain Raindrops falling from the sky? Collisions? Water puddles? Running water? Snow Snowflakes falling from the sky? Snow on the ground? Leaves Change colours? Falling from tree? Leaves in the wind? Techniques Maya particle effects Maya fluid effects Maya nCloth Create in compositing

COLOUR TEMPERATURE Correct lighting and colour temperature in different weather conditions.

TRANSITIONS Sunny  rain  ice  snow Create in compositing or in maya? Change textures over time?
