Welcome to Neighbors Against Bad Bugs (NAAB)!

What is NABB? Neighbors Against Bad Bugs (NABB) is a program where Purdue Master Gardeners work with Neighborhood Volunteers to get the message out about Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive pest that kills ash trees. NABB helps neighbors: 1.Learn where their ash trees are 2.Find out where to go for good information and advice.

People are often surprised at how many ash trees there are lining their street and in their yards. Once they are aware of what they stand to lose, they act earlier which saves time and money and helps keep their neighborhoods attractive.

NABB Ash Tree Tagging Events helps neighbors learn where ash trees are located on their streets, how to identify ash trees in their yards, and where to find good information about managing EAB.

The NABB program encourages communities and individuals to make good choices about their ash trees before EAB arrives, which not only saves money but allows conservation of the tree canopy in their yards and neighborhoods.

NABB Master Gardener Volunteers working with County Extension Educators organize and assist volunteers from their communities’ neighborhoods in identifying and tagging ash trees on city right-of- ways with distinctive purple tags. The tags contain contact information and the web address of the Purdue EAB web site The website provides citizens with good information on managing EAB on their property and ideas to help them keep costs and losses down.

NABB events are both informative and fun!
