EOT Thrust linkages to ET/AT Thrust Areas Gregory Moses NPACI Executive Committee Meeting Caltech / Pasadena, CA August 3-4, 1998

Mission of joint EOT PACI To ensure that all citizens may make productive use of emerging computing technologies to advance their ability to understand and solve problems in education, science, business, government and society.

Five key focus areas Education: Create a national level systemic impact on CS&E curricula. Access and Inclusion: Increase participation and success of women, minorities and people with disabilities in CS&E. Gov’t and New Communities: Broaden the base of the nation’s HPCC infrastructure. Learning Technologies: Develop tools for learning. Evaluation: Provide for ongoing, external evaluation of our education/outreach efforts.

EOT PACI Plan of Attack Work with exemplary programs. Scale to a national level using PACI resources. One EOT PACI that combines activities in each PACI partnership Build infrastructure

EOT Linkages with AT/ET Thrusts Identify and track current linkages Seek opportunities –EOT project using AT/ET technology –EOT project disseminating AT/ET technology –AT/ET proposing EOT project based on their technology Linkages are a unique feature of the partnership
