Rational and DB2 were quickly integrated into the curriculum and are currently being taught with an eye toward broad expansion, across the program, as a platform for student project portfolios.  Value – SJSU MIS students now will graduate with an appreciation of the open paradigm and a broader knowledge of the tools they are likely to encounter in the field. Acting Chair, Tim Hill reports “an immediate value-added impact on the quality of our program and, by extension, our graduates, in term of the depth and breath of their knowledge and skills.”  Results – All MIS students now get exposure to open source and IBM technologies, enhancing their prospects for hiring and long term career success.
