Remarks  Lectures and labs are integrated and they complement each other.  To pass this course, you MUST pass its lab.  Cheating will be reported to the Department Chairman.  Attendance will be checked at the beginning AND at the end of each lab.  An official excuse must be shown within ONE week.  Absence of 3 labs will result in a DN (Denial) grade.  1% will be deducted for each lab absence.  NO make-up of quizzes or any class work.

From Studying Experience [1/2]  Before you start writing your code, try to design your problem first in any way you want.  Don’t try to copy and past the code at this first stage of your programming; instead type it.  You will learn from your errors.  You will discover a lot of new things.  Your quizzes !!! and exams will be written.  Don’t delay your assignment to the last moment.  You will do it in a hurry  You will do it only for submission purpose, if you manage to finish it.

From Studying Experience [2/2]  45 Hours  You will spend 45 hours in this lab, so try to benefit from this lab as much as possible.  Being a “Java” programmer is better than being “nothing” programmer!  Organization  This is programming. Organize your work as well as your code; in this way you will spend less time when you refer back to your work or code.  Normally in your future work, you will write programs for others not for yourself. So, be organized as much as possible.

Some Important Points  Be prepare for the lab  No explanation, although a lab material is included in the lab note!  Absolutely programming and answering questions.  Pre-Lab Quizzes  Simple question(s) test your preparation for the lab.

Introduction to Computing Using Java  Refer to the MS Word document.
