Hennepin County GIS Office Hennepin County GIS Data Services (GDS) The main data goals and objectives include: Reduce duplicated geospatial data across the organization. –Eliminate duplicate efforts such as maintenance of redundant GIS datasets. –Strategic effort to manage and efficiently maintain data processing associated with GIS data. Encourage geospatial data sharing across business lines. –Increase organizational awareness of existing GIS datasets. –Ensure consistent and efficient access to GIS datasets across the organization. Foster coordinated ventures for geospatial data collection between business lines. –Promote data information sharing, integration, and partnership among departments. –Coordinate data custodial responsibilities to ensure data stewardship and accountability. Increase the accuracy of the County’s geospatial data by requiring a high level of data integrity. –Ensure the completeness and accuracy of GIS datasets across the organization. –Establish baseline spatial and attribute standards for GIS datasets.
