Monash University Fund for Education in South Africa

2 Background Rationale for the Fund: to improve political positioning of MSA within South Africa to raise profile of MSA both in Australia and South Africa in order to facilitate further fund raising activities to publicise Monash’s current financial commitment to scholarships and training to increase support for scholarships and training for South Africans to improve the political relations between the Australian and South African Governments – initiative strongly supported by both the Australian and South African High Commissions

3 Objectives The Monash University Fund for Education in South Africa (MUFESA) has two main objectives: 1.To create higher education scholarships for disadvantaged South African students AND who are committed to making a contribution to the future of South Africa 2.To offer short course training (eg. for public administrators and the municipal and provincial level and in-service training for teachers especially mathematics, science and English)
