Mesosphere: the coldest part of the atmosphere. extend up to 30 to 50 miles above Earth’s surface. Thermosphere: Temperatures can reach up to several thousand degrees Fahrenheit. extend about 50 to 180 miles above Earth’s surface. Exosphere Exosphere: the outermost layer of the atmosphere. the transition zone into space. extend to 500 miles above Earth’s surface.
