What is Windows Home Server?  The latest home server operating system from Microsoft “digital hub”  Intended to be a solution for homes with multiple connected PCs  Currently in beta testing, final release planned in second half of 2007

Features  Digital media sharing with network- attached storage  Centralized backup – up to 12PCs  PC health monitoring  Printer Sharing  Remote Access Gateway  Data redundancy  Expandable storage

Tech  Based on Windows Server 2003 SP2  Requires a wired Ethernet connection and power source  Supports any type of hard disk  The server console runs on a separate Windows XP or Vista PC
