Presentation transcript:

Installation of Delphi Frame  ITS Installation

Placement of I-bars in waiting position The Two I-bars on the C-side are shielding the access to the ITS-Service Chariot Connections.  During ITS installation, a set of two I-bars is installed on the A-side (Shaft Side). Another set of I-bars is waiting on the C-side. Once the TPC is in final position, the load is transferred to the C-side I-bars and the A-side I-bars are removed. The Backframe Platform will be installed next week. How to hold and handle the I-bars will be investigated at the same time …

Transfer Rails (Between DF and SF) must be placed in the BSF in a ‘parking position’ before the DF is put in place Integration test was done without BSF ! Installing rails after DF was possible. This is not the case in the final configuration. A test of the the installation of the transfer rails in the L3 magnet will be performed within the next weeks (August)  Check installation procedure.  Check if clearance to BSF is sufficient. Transfer Rails

Access for Installation of Jacks An access platform elements are hanging on the TPC rails and they can also slide on the rails. They are designed to fit between TPC and fixation piece.

Displacement of TPC from DF to IP During the movement of the TPC, the relative position of SSW and TPC must be monitored  Simple mechanical device. The position of the TPC will me monitored by the Surveyors. The x,y,z, coordinates of the outer (and possibly inner) reference rods on the shaft side will be used to determine the position of the TPC. It is not possible to install a useful survey station on the C-side.

Alignment of TPC with Beam Axis Once the TPC is in the final position, the TPC axis is aligned with the beam axis. Again, only the x,y,z, coordinates of the outer (and possibly inner) reference rods on the shaft side can be used to determine the position of the TPC.

Installation of DF platform While the TPC is aligned in the final position, the Platform for the ITS table in the DF is installed. During the integration test we used concrete blocks. Since in the cavern there is a false floor with services underneath and since the platform must be large than during the test, a scaffolding type platform will be set up.

Installation of 1 st ITS rail section Two 6m sections of the ITS rails are inserted through the TPC and fixed by the ITS rail fixation points on the frontabsorber. Then, the fixations points are slightly opened to allow the ITS rails to move to the parking position together with the TPC. Since we assume that after movement of TPC to parking position and back to the IP the TPC ends up in the same position, the above procedure will make sure that the ITS rails are well aligned with the TPC when it moves to the IP.

Displacement of TPC from IP to Parking Position (!! 4600mm !!) R position of SSW and TPC must be monitored  Simple mechanical device. The transversal movement of the TPC will again me monitored by the Surveyors. ThisTPC movement will tell us how the beampipe will be deformed during the final displacement to the IP.

Installation of Spaceframe Platform The platform elements beween TPC and frontabsorber for ITS installation will be installed.
