Data Analysis Software 2.02 Technical Explanations Overview of Process Statistical Procedures Statistical Significance Effect size Terminology and Frequently Asked Questions Clarifications

Data Analysis Software 2.03 Statistical Procedures It will allow you to find the statistical significance of the change in your scores and it will allow you to find the effect size.

Data Analysis Software 2.04 Significance Statistical significance only tells you the probability that you would obtain a change as great as you did. It does not tell you the magnitude of change nor does it tell you if the amount of change is worthwhile in your situation..05 level = 5% level of confidence If the change is significant at the 5% level, that means that in only 5% of the cases in which one would draw random samples from their population would they get a difference as great as they found.

Data Analysis Software 2.05 Effect Size Effect size indicates the magnitude of change An effect size of.3 or less = substantial growth.2 but less than.3 = good growth.1 but less than.2 = growth enough to mention.1 but greater than -.1 = growth but not enough to mention. -.1 and -.2 = decline -.2 and -.3 = bad decline -.3 or greater = substantial decline
