The Solar System Solar system is composed of the sun, the planets, and other bodies that travel around the sun.

Formation of the Solar System Formed from a cloud of gas, ice and dust called a nebula about 4.6 billion years ago. Star nearby might have exploded causing the nebula to flatten and spin faster.
