Mission and Experiment Mission: Launch a balloonsat to determine the light filtering effect of the atmosphere and test the effectiveness of a thermostat to improve temperature control for the balloonsat. Light experiment: Using a solar cell the filtering effect of the atmosphere can be determined by measuring light intensity at ground level and then comparing it to the data obtained from the balloonsat. Thermostat experiment: In order to maintain control of the temperature inside of the balloonsat a thermostat will be used to control the heater.

Mission Requirements -Our heater and thermostat will monitor the temperature inside to keep the satellite above 0 degrees Celsius. -Our mass as of now is about grams -The pressure sensor will help measure ascent and descent rates. -Two cameras for photographing Earth and balloon. -Our two experiments include measuring light intensity and a thermostat device. -Our estimated budget is about $70 well below the limit. -Design, building, and testing of experiments is proceeding.

Current Status of Building and Testing Box:Built Cameras:Built but untested Thermostat/heater:Built but untested Solar PanelNot bought Mirror assemblyNot built Construction is going as planned. The testing phase has not been started.

Plan for Remaining Days Our plan for the next 19 days is to acquire the rest of our hardware, hot glue together the structure and tape the edges with aluminum tape, test the structure for strength, incorporate and secure all of our hardware into the structure, makes the necessary holes for the cameras and other instruments in the structure and fill the gaps, install the tube for the cable that connects the satellites, connect all components that need to be connected, test all components to be sure they are working properly, and test for water and cold resistance. Then on the 22nd we will be ready for launch.
