Look at this letter from Abraham Lincoln to a former girlfriend. Have you ever written a letter to a friend?

What do you know about Abraham Lincoln? Where have you seen him? Why is he important? Where did he grow up? Do you know what number President he was?

Abraham Lincoln Look at this picture and fill out your KWL. Only fill in the KW with us on the board. We will fill in the L after our trip to New Salem State Park.

Daily Oral Math After completing your daily oral math, look closely at a problem Abe may have had at his store. Try to develop a problem using the vocabulary during pioneer times. IE. Shillings, silk, sugar, cents, ginger. When you have finished create a problem and have a partner solve it.
