Applied Sciences Division Annual Awards Ceremony Student Awards May 5, 2005

Tonight’s Presiding Official Alan C. Dixon Professor Emeritus Electrical Engineering Technology

BCC’s 1 st President The Cecil C. Tyrrell Award – photo from the 1949 college year book "The Citadel“. In April, 1946, the New York Legislature passed a bill providing for an Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences to be founded in Binghamton. The problem of securing the right person, qualified to direct its material, as well as its academic development, was the first task in forming the institute. After four months of search, Mr. Cecil C. Tyrrell was selected as Director of the Institute.

TEC Division Scholarships Victor and Esther Rozen Foundation Scholarship Victor and Esther Rozen were active philanthropists in the community. The Rozen Foundation has been supporting local BCC students for four years now. Each spring, one student from each of the four academic divisions (Liberal Arts, Business, Applied Sciences, and Technologies, Engineering and Computing) is honored with a merit scholarship made possible by the Rozen Foundation.
