By Austin Goodson

  The Legislative Branch helps make laws.  The Legislative Branch writes the bills.

 The legislative Branch meets in the U.S. Capitol building.  The legislative branch meets every two odd numbered years.

 The number of senators is 100  The qualifications to be a senator is you have to be 30 years of age, have to live in the United States for 9 years, and live in the state he or she is representing.

 The term for a senator is every six years. If you want to stay in the Senate the U.S. citizens have to elect you again.  Herb Kohl  Russ Feingold

 The Presiding officer for the Senate is Joe Biden he has been the presiding officer for a while.

 You have to be 25 years old, you have to live in the U.S. for 7 years, and have to live in the state her or she is representing.  The term to be a representative is two years long.  There are 435 Representatives.

 Paul Ryan, Tammy Baldwin, Ron Kind, Gwen Moore, Tom Petri, Dave Obey, Steve Kagen

 Ron Kind, Gwen Moore Dave Obey James Sensenbrenner

 Nancy Patricia Pelosi is the Presiding officer of the House of Representatives since January 4,

 Impeachment begins in the House and the house has sole power of Impeachment. That means the house has the power to convict a government official for impeachment. If the person decides what to do to the official, they could decide if they want to have a vote to Impeach. If the vote turns out as a yes then they can investigate charges for the official.

 It goes like this starts with idea starts in the House then a Bill, then the Committee in the House then Quarantine vote over ½ 218 votes then senate committee takes over then sends it to Obama if he says yes it’s a law if he vetoes it goes to a vote.

 To establish roads and Post offices.

 To declare war

 Create courts

 To borrow money

 To declare war, raise taxes, set standards for weight, establish postal offices, and post roads.  Concurrent powers to build prisons, Police, laws, Hospitals, and parks.  Reserved powers establish local governments, maintain schools, marriage laws, regulate business in the state, and provide welfare in the state.

 I don’t think I would want to be a part of the government it’s just not my favorite thing to do to make laws and manage things. It would just be a lot of pressure on me to do the right things.

 If I was a part of this branch the law I would change was you only get 2 chances when you get caught drunk driving instead of 3 chances.

 This Branch is actually the branch that keeps the people safe and it is the one branch that makes the laws which could have an impact on you for the rest of your life.
