Universe – (Freedman & Kaufmann) 8th edition

Reading and HW #1 Read Chapter 1

What This Class Will Be: An introduction to the major research areas of contemporary astronomy: the scientific revolution, planetary science, stellar characteristics, formation, & evolution, galaxies, cosmology. Fast-paced! Filled with “eye candy”! Thought-provoking.

What This Class Will NOT Be: Boring (if it is, I’m not doing my job!). Forgettable after the final (again, if it is I’m not doing my job!). What you get out of this class depends on what you put into it!
