ExpoEd Career Research, Pathways& Course Selection

What is ExpoEd ? An internet based program for selecting courses based on career research and pathways.

Why ExpoEd ? promote Student Success through career research plan career pathways for all students beginning in Grade 8 facilitate the selection of courses that help build the pathway selected increase communication between student, parents, teachers and counsellors

How Do I Access ExpoEd? Go to: or after Thursday Janurary

Future Grade 9 Students

Here is the first thing you will see: USERNAME = USERNAME = Student Number PASSWORD = Birth date: Click on “LOG IN” PASSWORD = Birth date: mm/dd/yyyy Click on “LOG IN”

Make sure you use your Course Calendar In the course calendar, you will find the up to date descriptions for every course offered at the school for the upcoming school year. A copy of the Grade 9 course calendar is provided in your course registration package – see pamphlet entitled: “A GUIDE TO GRADE 9”

ExpoEd is A 3 step process to the road to success: STEP 1: Research Careers STEP 2: Plan Your Courses ***** STEP 3: Submit Course Selections for Next Year Click on……. “(2) PLAN COURSES”

Step 2: “Plan Your Courses” on your first login, you must select the appropriate “Curriculum Pathway”…… select wisely the destination can be changed at any time later

Course Selection Procedure (4 year planner) -refer to career planning notes, course calendar, parents, teacher/counsellor recommendations to choose levels….. must complete highlighted box – green dashes

At this point, your courses have been submitted BUT….. You may only print your “Sign Off” sheet during the FINAL SUBMISSION period At Kingsville these are the important dates: Course Selection STARTS: January 15, 2007 Course Submission Period ENDS: February 15, 2007 Note: Do not register until after guidance counsellors have visited your grade school. No later than January 30 th : You must select 8 courses plus 1 alternate PRINT OFF YOUR “SIGN OFF” SHEET Your “SIGN OFF” sheet must have a barcode assigned to it otherwise it has not been registered (see next slide). All “SIGN OFF” sheets must be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to your Grade 8 teacher.

The signed ”SIGN OFF” sheet, with barcode: must be submitted on or before February 15 th, 2007 to your Grade 8 teacher
