07/25/2007 Quigley signs pro contract Duluth native Erika Quigley has signed a contract to play for a professional women’s basketball team based in Thessaloniki, Greece. Quigley will play in Greece’s top league, said her mother, Lauren. Teams are allowed to have two foreign-born players, including WNBA players, on their rosters. The season is from September through May. Quigley, a 6-foot-2 forward, was named player of the year by the Women’s Division II Bulletin, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and Daktronics after leading the nation in scoring with 24.5 points per game in and ranking in the top 10 with 11.6 rebounds per game as a senior at St. Cloud State. She’s the school’s career scoring leader. Quigley, who is living in St. Paul and working out with a professional trainer, will follow the lead of older brother, Josh, who played two professional seasons in Europe after being named Minnesota Duluth’s male athlete of the year in 2000.
