FUTURE OF THE THIRD AGE Active Senior and Information Technology ASIT

Project Steps: A. Step by step 1. Memory practice – exercises and games (academic year programme 2010/2012, workshops – pedagogic of fun during the spring and summer university by KLANZA or NLP) 2. Language learning - active learning (academic year programme 2010/2012, workshops during the spring and summer university). Advanced groups can attend English courses with the use of IT. 3. IT courses for begginers and advanced. 4. Foreign partners meetings (including foreign language meetings) – intercultural and intergenerational

Target group The target group is made up of seniors from the Association Mokotowski University of the Third Age and its branches, as well as group of youth invited once a month and joining seniors during specific lecture subjects. The cooperation between seniors and young people will help in becoming intelectually and physically active, which can result in the mutual respect of these two groups.

Project partners We consider future partnership with: France Germany Italy Great Britain Czech Republic

Becoming an active senior Through dialogue and presentation of the psychologically active seniors model and their potential, as well as passive seniors who need help. Discussion between active and passive seniors is an opportunity to find the solution – activation method. The guarantee of changing the attitude is the acceptance and positive engagement.

Project benefits: Seniors are becoming active citizens – the community they belong to has self-evident profit from it. They are aware of their role in economic, social and cultaral life. The nation is supposed to use their wisdom as it is a great asset. Preventing the exclusion of the senior group.

Objectives: The benefits of the project guarantee seniors an authority in their family and social life, which gives a chance of social cooperation, intercultural and intergenerational dialogue (foreign languages – English, French are tools that constitute an integrative element during the meetings of the project members – students of the Third Age Universities as well as their grandchildren) The project influences the perception of the own and countries in partnership. The project will result in creation of the group of volunteers – fully responsible.
