Deployment Guidance for Customers Considering Vista 1 Use our free tools and guidance We have more and better tools for Windows Vista than for any other release. Customers should start at http://www.microsoft.com/springboard, which has guidance to walk them through each step: Discover, Explore, Pilot, and Rollout. Use the best practices & tools in the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT formerly BDD). Most of the customers mentioned used MDT: Satyam, Danish Foreign Ministry, Continental Airlines. We continue to invest in Vista guidance and will be adding more throughout this year. 2 Understand your environment Get an accurate inventory of your hardware and software and make sure you have the latest Vista compatible versions. Build and standardize your image. We have made great free tools available to help you: MDT MAP Application Compatibility Toolkit.
