What are the Advantages of a Graduate Training Scheme? Well structured training Opportunity to join a company’s fast-track talent stream Broad commercial exposure Competitive salary Training and Development Chance to acquire professional qualifications funded by the employer Dispose of a mentor for career guidance Today continues to recruit to maintain future talent flow Average starting salaries in 2005 Investment banking £35,000 Law firm £28,000 Armed forces £25,600 Banking or financial services £23,000 IT company £22,000 Construction company £20,600 Media company £19,500 Insurance company £14,000 Offers plenty of support to start your career. Often allocated a buddy and mentor. You will receive training, gain experience and possibly be able to study for a professional qualification. Professional qualifications are usually paid for by the company. This is particularly the case in accounting, banking or insurance. They usually involve quite rigorous private study and demanding professional examinations. Passing these exams usually required to become qualified within the role. You are often rotated around departments which gives you good exposure, and allows you to understand where your interests and strengths may lie.
