Philosophy of Teaching Becky Ellis, MN, RN

I Believe in Caring I believe that caring for the student as a unique individual is the basis for the quality and richness that I bring to nursing education

Inspiring a Personal Desire to Learn It is my belief that true learning takes place when the student has the personal desire to learn.

My Desire is to Inspire in Each Student A Love of life-long learning Genuine caring and kindness for their patients as well as their nursing peers. Genuine caring and kindness for their patients as well as their nursing peers.

What I Bring to My Students Over 30 years as a Medical-Surgical nurse in the acute care setting. Enthusiasm, excitement and a love of nursing. A Role model of professional nursing.

My Beliefs as an Educator Optimal learning takes place in a caring, safe, and non threatening setting in which to practice new skills and explore new ideas.

Communication True learning can take place only when the lines of communication are kept open and immediate feedback is given to the student in a non-threatening and caring manner.

May my teaching drop like the rain, my speech condense like the dew; like gentle rain on grass, like showers on new growth. Bible: Hebrew, Deuteronomy Bible: Hebrew, Deuteronomy 32:2
