Employment Preparation Faculty WIKIS and MOODLES

 EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION FACULTY currently have 26 existing wikis. The list can be viewed at- arationClasses arationClasses These wikis can be a place where-  students access learning material at a time that suits them,  Students can share their work, chat, join forums.  Check with the teachers of the wikis to see if you can access this material. Or be inspired to start your own!

 Moodles are similar to wikis but can have assignments, quizzes and Learning Objects imbedded.  Teachers in our faculty have already started moodles which have a range of learning resources you could use with your students.(CHECK WITH TEACHERS/ OWNERS FIRST)  They can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection  They can be used within the classroom for whole group, small group or individuals  They can be linked to your class wiki for easy access.

Our moodles can be found by visiting and clicking on the Employment Preparation link on the left hand side

Campbelltown- Listening Moodle- (key- listen) Granville English for Academic Purpose (Contact Padmini for permission to view) d=60 d=60 Mac Fields- PWS Cert 1

Padstow- AWT Defence course (Suitable for students whose goal is to join the Defence Force) (key- Defence) Wetherill Park- ESOL (Will need to ask for key from teachers- Rachel Koshy, Miriam Lentern, Chiya Moheidin

 There are also a number of moodles that have been started but need to be planned, built and open for student use.  The teachers/ owners of these moodles will be contacted to see if they are willing to have other teachers work with them to develop the content  These moodles can then be planned to meet unit outcomes.  They can be used across different colleges by both ABE and ESOL (such as the Listening moodle)

WWe are hoping at least one teacher from each section can be nominated (volunteered) for this task. WWe will have on-going moodle skill building sessions, including planning, uploading, linking, use of video and audio files, quizzes and Learning Activity Wizard. WWe are open to suggestions about which units will be addressed- suggestions have included a numeracy unit, Issues in Australian Society, Media ?????????? WWe are also hoping to start a moodle for Aged Care as we have a number of WELL projects in this area.

 The list of existing moodles suitable for this process-  Campbelltown- SoA ESOL  AWT- Listening (Continue to develop)   Granville EAP  Eng for Employment  PWS  Learner Support   Mac Fields PWS   Miller Indigenous Tut Assist  Learner support   Padstow Skills for Work & Training   Liverpool Cert2 ESOL  Level 2 ESOL

 The Owner/Teachers of these moodles will need to agree.  Most have already mentioned that they welcome the idea and are looking forward to developing these moodles  The Owner/Teacher of the moodle may be the ‘volunteer’ from your section, or they may want another colleague from their section as well.  Times and places will be negotiated across 4 campuses to keep travel at a minimum.
