MSC Council An election was held for the MCS Council Co: Chair position –Doctor Jeffrey Teuteberg MD (Cardiologist, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA) Dr. Teuteberg will assume Chair position of the MCS Council at the 2012 ISHLT Scientific Meeting. A new MCS Co:Chair will be elected at the 2012 ISHLT Scientific Meeting.

MSC Council Goals and Plans for the Coming Year MCS Guidelines and Standards Document –Initial draft completed –Sunrise Symposium Sat April 16 th –Plan for submission to Education Committee and BoD in 3 rd quarter 2011 –Plan for submission to JHLT for publication 4 th quarter 2012 –Publication prior to the 2012 ISHLT Scientific Meeting Issue to address for the Board: The MCS Guidelines documented as written does not contain a section on Pediatric MCS. The Standards and Guidelines Workforce believed the complexity of this topic should be covered in a separate document. The MCS Council members agreed. Does the BoD agree with this position? Availability of a technical writer to assist with completion of the MCS Guidelines document.

MSC Council Goals and Plans for the Coming Year Education Workforce –MCS Master Academy for the 2012 ISHLT Scientific Meeting –Issues raised of the timing of the Master Academy with respect to the 2012 ISHLT Scientific meeting. Issue to address for the BoD: The MCS Council requested that the BoD consider a proposal to have the Master Academy before or at the conclusion of the 2012 ISHLT Scientific Meetings.
