Union College Commencement 2009 There are 3 plans for commencement based upon weather considerations. This is the Light Rain Plan. See other links on this site for plans dealing with other weather conditions.

Union College Commencement 2009 This is the Light Rain Plan. 1. Students report to Memorial Chapel. Marshals will distribute seating cards and seat students in preparation for entering line of march. Students will receive light weight plastic rain ponchos. Students should consider bringing small folding umbrellas should the rainfall continue during the Commencement Ceremony. 2. Pipers and Faculty report to Humanities Building 3. Platform Party assembles in Old Chapel. 4. Please see “In the Event of Rain Indoor Broadcasts” information on the Graduation web page.

Example Seating Card Your Name Here You must keep this card with you This is used to form the line of march. Find your place in line by using this number. This lists your degree This is where you will be seated If weather moves the ceremony to Achilles Center you will not march. As you enter marshals will direct you to your row and seat. As graduates arrive at Memorial Chapel they should move down the center aisle and at the end of the aisle ask a Faculty Marshal for a seating card. Candidates with last names in the early part of the alphabet will turn left to get their cards and find their seat. The latter half will turn right. A seating card is shown at the right.
