Tips for great reading Code-breaking strategies Text structure and features Plot sequence Character motivation Literal and inferential meanings How illustrations contribute to the meaning Author’s purpose of the story Language used

Homework Each Monday your son will receive a homework task sheet in their homework folder. The task sheet will list the jobs to do: –Reading home readers (5 minutes) –Learn sight words using look, say, cover, write, check or your own method (5 minutes every 2 nd day) –Literacy task (5 minutes) –Math task (5 minutes) Don’t do all the homework in one night. It is better to do a bit each day. Every child is different in the way they handle homework tasks at home, please be patient. I want to know what they can do and how they manage independently.
