The Pathway to Success Programs of Distinction Goal 4 – Initiative 1

The Pathway to Success Introduction & Purpose In today’s competitive market space, institutions that thrive are those that develop signature programs and activities. Benefits of Distinction: Internal: Pride & modeling excellence External: Awareness & investment interest Purpose of Goal 4, Initiative 1 is threefold: 1.To evaluate existing program of distinction and promise; 2.To build a mechanism for further investment in selected programs from this group; and 3.To enable new programs of distinction and promise to be identified and supported.

The Pathway to Success Methods Develop rubric for evaluation of existing programs of distinction, solicit summative reports, evaluate reports, and submit recommendations. Establish a new process for building distinction via an emphasis on aligning cross-disciplinary and cross-unit effort in partnership with external partners to address clear societal needs. Process to include internal and external reviews and be transparent. Develop and deploy a campus education campaign to new process (Unbounded Possibilities).
