Union College Commencement 2009 There are 3 plans for commencement based upon weather considerations. This is the Heavy Rain Plan. Color coded tickets required for indoor seating in campus buildings. Union College Commencement 2009 This is the Heavy Rain Plan. 1.Guests with Green Tickets may enter through the main entrance of Achilles Center. 2.Students should enter at the doors on the south side of Achilles Center. Marshals will distribute seating cards and students will take their seats. Only the Faculty, the Platform Party and the Student Marshals will march. 3.Pipers, Platform Party and Faculty report to locker room area of Achilles Center.

Union College Commencement 2009 This is the Heavy Rain Plan. 4. A video broadcast of the Commencement Ceremony taking place in Achilles Center may be seen in other campus buildings. Each building has limited seating and a color coded ticket is required for entrance. Please see the “In the Event of Rain” web pages for further information about these locations.

Example Seating Card Your Name Here You must keep this card with you At Achilles Center graduates will not march. Use the card to find your seat and wait for the ceremony to begin. This lists your degree This is where you will be seated If weather moves the ceremony to Achilles Center you will not march. As you enter marshals will direct you to your row and seat. As graduates arrive at the south entrances to Achilles Center the graduates in the first half of the alphabet should enter the right door and proceed to the right to enter Messa Rink and graduates in the second half should use the left door and proceed to the left to enter Messa Rink. Faculty Marshals at the rink doors will hand out seating cards. After receiving a card each graduate should find his/her seat. Graduates will not march. A seating card is shown at the right.

BLUE LINE - Students will enter Achilles Center at the South entrances. YELLOW LINE C. YELLOW LINE - Faculty will enter the front at the lower level. D. GREEN LINE – Guests with proper “Green Tickets” enter Achilles Center N

Students Faculty Guests Heavy Rain Plans in the Achilles Center 9:10 – 9:40 am 1.Students [RED LINES] use South entrances. 2.Marshals inside doors in the rink hand out cards, students find seats 3.Guests use main entrance 4.Faculty, pipers, platform party assemble in locker rooms on first level. Students N-Z enter this door. Students A-M enter this door.

Heavy Rain Plans in the Achilles Center 9:40 am 5.Student and faculty marshals go to main lobby to join the line of march. 6.Pipers, faculty and platform party come up the stairs to the main lobby. 7.Single file line until through the door and into the rink. Pair up upon entering the rink. 8.Flag and student marshals at the end. Students Faculty Guests

Heavy Rain Plans in the Achilles Center 12.Pipers march down center aisle to lead the Platform Party and the Faculty back down the center aisle. Students Faculty Guests

Heavy Rain Plans in the Achilles Center 17. As the Pipers move down the center aisle the Graduates, beginning at the last row, will enter the line behind the Pipers. The line will exit through the Zamboni door and move to the Fieldhouse entering by way of the Viniar center. Students Faculty Guests
