The Implications of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ:

A. Definition. 1. A rising from the dead or returning to life. Believers in TLJC will rise to a body of incorruption and perfection, never to die again.

Physical death is the prerequisite for resurrection with two exceptions:

a. The Rapture generation of the Church Age.

a. The Rapture generation of the Church Age. b. The Millennial believers alive at the end of time and human history.

2. Two general resurrections:

2. Two general resurrections: a. For believers only, resurrected to eternal life with an eternal body superior to angels. Dan 12:2; John 5:24 ‑ 29; 1 Cor 15:20 ‑ 22; Rev 20:6, 13

b. For unbelievers only, resurrected from Hades and cast into the Lake of Fire forever. Mat 25:41; 1 Cor 15:24; Rev 20:5 ‑ 15

John 3:36, “He who believes in Him (Jesus Christ) is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

3. The First Resurrection (believers only) is pictured as a battalion pass-in- review divided into four echelons, 1 Cor 15:20 ‑ 24.

a. Alpha Company: The resurrection of Christ. He is “the first fruits of those who are asleep.” Mat 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20 ‑ 21; Acts 2:31 ‑ 34.

b. Bravo Company: The resurrection of the Royal Family of God at the end of the Church Age. John 14:1 ‑ 3; Phil 3:20 ‑ 21; 1 Cor 15:51 ‑ 57; 1 Thes 4:13 ‑ 18; 1 John 3:1 ‑ 2

c. Charlie Company: The resurrection of OT believers and Tribulational martyrs at the end of the Tribulation. Dan 12:13; Isa 26:19 ‑ 20; Mat 24:31; Rev 20:4

d. Delta Company: The resurrection of the Millennial saints at the end of the Millennium. Rev 20:5

4. Resurrection is also the state of one risen from the dead. For the believer, our position is sharing in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the moment of our salvation.

Even though we have not died, we can experience the spiritual aspects of our new life in the risen Christ. Rom 6:5-11; Eph 2:4-6; Col 2:12-13; 3:1-4

Mat 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

John 11:25-26, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
