Temp Conversions Centigrade, Fahrenheit, Absolute

o C – Based on boiling point and freezing point of pure water (also called Centigrade) o F – Fahrenheit. Based on normal body temperature being 100 o F (really 98.6) and 0 o F being the freezing point of brine (saturated salt water). A – Absolute. Based on Absolute zero being lowest temperature possible. (also called Kelvin)

Conversions Kelvin to Celsius – Subtract 273 Celsius to Kelvin – Add 273 Celsius to Fahrenheit – o F = 9/5 o C + 32 Fahrenheit to Celsius – o C = ( o F – 32)5/9

Fill in the Blanks FahrenheitAbsoluteCentigrade

Questions 1.Which scales have the same size increment? 2.Which scale has only positive numbers? 3.At what temperature are the F and A scales the same? 4.At what temperature are the C and A scales the same? 5.At what temperature are the C and F scales the same?
