Introduction Subject: Food Guide Pyramid Grade Level: 1 st -2 nd Description: This activity will enable students to become familiar with the food guide pyramid and what kinds of foods are classified into each group Introduction Lesson Quiz

Lesson 1 There are 6 main food groups in the food guide pyramid: ~Breads ~Fruits ~Vegetables ~Meats ~Dairy ~Fats Introduction Lesson Quiz

Lesson 2 Breads include: Pasta, Rice, Cereal, Oatmeal, and Toast Introduction Lesson Quiz

Lesson 3 Fruits include apples, bananas, strawberries, peaches, grapes and oranges Introduction Lesson Quiz

Lesson 4 Vegetables include carrots, broccoli, spinach, lettuce, corn, cucumbers and tomatoes. Introduction Lesson Quiz

Lesson 5 Meats include chicken, beef, pork, nuts, lamb, eggs and any product taken from an animal Introduction Lesson Quiz
