13 During This Part of the Class You and your team will –develop your Concept –give two oral reports –write several memos –write a recommendation report –take two comprehensive exams

16 Step 1 - Preparing u Each presenting member must complete the Individual Oral Planning Form (available in Forms, Templates, & Tools) u Each Team must –complete the Team Oral Planning Form (available in Forms, Templates, & Tools) –submit the planning forms to Dr. Zener before the presentation –bring a blank video & copy of presentation (6 or 9 slides per page)

17 Step 2 - Delivering u Presentation Length –2 speakers - 8 minutes –3 speakers - 12 minutes –times include transition times u Each speaker must speak for at least 3.0 minutes

18 Step 2 - Delivering (continued) u Each team’s presentation will be video taped u Each team will be assessed by: –Dr. Zener (IA6 Checklist) –Class Peers (peer assessment form) –Dr. McNeill (TA3 Checklist)

19 Step 2 - Delivering (continued) Dr. Zener, at the end of each session, will briefly discuss with each presenter: –the strong aspects of the presentation and –the areas that need improvement in the presentation

20 Step 3 - Self Assessing Each member must: –review the video of their presentation –prepare a rough draft of Oral Presentation Memo (IA1) and –have the draft assessed (Peer Assessment Checklist)

21 Step 4 - Submitting Memo u Prepare a final version of IA1 using the results of the peer assessment to improve the memo u Each student is to submit: –the final version of memo –the Peer Assessment Checklist –their Rough Draft

22 Oral Presentation Quiz u What is the topic of the first oral presentation? u When is the planning form due? u Who assesses IA1 (memo), IA6 (individual presentation), and TA3 (content)? Discuss, as a team, each of the following questions and prepare to respond (30 seconds)

29 First Peer Notebook Review u Give your Design Notebook to the team with three higher numbers (1 to 4, 2 to 6, 3 to 1, 4 to 2, and 6 to 3) u Using –Notebook Review (1st Peer) –Notebook Structure and –Product Selection Checklists assess the work

30 First Peer Notebook Review u When you have completed the review, two members return the notebook and discuss the review with the team u Place Notebook Review (1st Peer) Checklist in your team folder (not notebook) and return folder to front of room
