Let’s practice.. Groups of 5 people *Stand* and discuss one of the following for 1 minute:  The best place you’ve traveled to and why  Your favourite university class – when, why  Your favourite hobby – why, how long

Short Presentations Three dates: Oct. 14, 28, Nov. 4 Guidelines  1 power point slide, 3 minutes max  General overview of project  Will be taking attendance/participation  Marked out of /10 (1% of final grade) Clarity (how well can you convey your ideas to the audience) Organization (effective use of slides – text, pics) Content (do you understand what you are going to be doing) Presentation Skills (do you rely on your notes, tone, volume etc)

Short Presentations Tips  Check out the guide to making presentations on my website!!!  Use as little text as needed  Use diagrams, pictures, figures etc if you can  “Talk” to the audience, avoid using notes  Take your time  Practice, practice, practice! PLEASE TO ME THE NIGHT BEFORE (or earlier)!
