Presentation transcript:

Heating element to heat rim to approx. 600℉ Track to move cups from one subcomponent to the next. Linear actuator for control upward motion of cup. Cup holder with bottom punch to prevent rotation of the cup during punching process. Piston to provide downward motion of punch Servo motor to rotate punch. The framework will be designed for the heat punch and vacuum system concurrently to ensure compatibility of parts and product efficiency. Spline shaft from Musumi to transfer rotation while allowing linear translation.

Inner spring to control position of cup holder and apply force to heating element. Outer spring to absorb force of punch. Cup holder to be machined in shop or rapid prototyped. Tubular heating element, will be much cheaper than original choice of a custom cast heating element. Punch element with small spikes to ensure the foil enters the cup evenly, and to force the foil to rotate with the punch
