Adult Training and Educational Opportunities

What opportunities do I have? Universities –Kent State University Private / Liberal Arts –Walsh University Technical / Vocational –Hamrick Truck Driving School Community Colleges –Stark State College of Technology

Universities Large (college) schools Students can usually earn Bachelor, Master, and/or Doctoral degrees. Publicly funded by the state to offset tuition costs.

Private / Liberal Arts Smaller than Universities Most students earn their Bachelor degree, not many Master and Doctoral programs. Cost more to attend because no public funds are used to offset the cost. Because of their smaller sizes, it is harder to gain admissions.

Technical / Vocational Small in size Most students earn certificates or a two year technical degree. Because most programs are under two years, the overall cost is cheaper than Private or University schools.

Community Colleges Smaller than Private or Universities but bigger than vocational or technical schools. Most students earn their Associate Degree. Cost less to attend because they are usually partially funded by county government. Admission to a community college is easy.
