3 SwiNG Scientific Advisory Board, June 26, 2009EGI Update and Options for Switzerland Options for the Leading Institution

4 SwiNG Scientific Advisory Board, June 26, 2009EGI Update and Options for Switzerland Current Situation Main issue: A coordinating office is needed backed by a an institution, which signs the EU call and provides the necessary financial backing and covers legal liabilities Assembly meeting Monday June 22, 2009 Clear statement that SwiNG should be the leading institution in the long run but today SwiNG does not have the necessary resources Intention: The role of the leading institution should be taken by an existing institution until 2011 SwiNG must make itself ready to take on this role in 2012 Next Step: Meeting between institutions involved in the EGI.eu call (incl. SwiNG)
