Luke J Paton

 The strike occurred in Victoria Melbourne Australia, causing riots in the streets. The riots where the response to the police strike.  It was also suggested that many of the rioters where in-fact police themselves.

 Government abolished police pensions.  People had lack of respect for the Chief commissioner as they believed he didn't deserve his position.  Pay cuts and poor working conditions

 Riot and looting occurred in the cities with officers and everyday people being injured.

 The government responded by getting volunteers to stand in-place and try and regain order.  People who took part where dismissed.

 The people who took part in the strike in Victoria where dismissed and the “loyals” where awarded what the dismissed officers had fought for in the riot.

 The Police officers who went on strike lost as they where dismissed but they achieved something for the other police officers in service.
