Status: Distribution DAISY audio material is distributed on CD-R – All CD-R are produced on-demand – Title information and user addresses are printed directly on CD-R – CD-R are packed in standard CD envelopes and shipped with postal services Nota has distributed DAISY materials since 2005 Nota ships approximately units annually (20 % periodicals, 80 % books) Nota has about users, of which receive audio books (an increase of 75% since 2005)
Status: Watermarking DRM at Nota: watermarking of audio files Watermarks uniquely identify recipients of audio books Watermarking technology is transparent to the user Watermark DRM is deemed sufficient by Danish copyright holders

Method 1: Online player Advantages: Instant access to all DAISY books and periodicals No need for special software or hardware Disadvantages: The user has to be connected to the internet in order to read/listen The user needs PC literacy
Method 2: Download Advantages: The downloaded DAISY material can be transferred to portable playback devices Faster than receiving DAISY material on CD-R my mail Disadvantages: Download may be a lengthy operation, especially if the user has a low-bandwidth internet connection The user needs PC literacy and playback device specific knowledge
Method 3: DAISY Online Delivery Advantages: Easy to use No need for a PC or PC literacy Disadvantages: Availability, quality and pricing of players No support for non-DAISY playback devices
