Three Revolutions to think about #1. The agricultural revolution Began 10,000 years ago. Human population was around 10 million and grew to 800 million by Though food per acre was of lower nutritional value, it dealt with problem of wildlife scarcity. Brought us concepts of land ownership, feudalism, wealth, status, trade, money, power, guilds, temples, armies, cities.

#2 The Industrial Revolution Population increased to 6 billion. Brought us machines, capitalism, roads, railroads, combustion, smokestacks, factories, even larger cities. Elevated technology and commerce above religion and ethics.

#3. The next revolution, Sustainability Will require imagining what you want, not what someone has taught you to want, not what you learned to be willing to settle for. Limits to Growth – 30 year update (2004)

The sustainability revolution will also require networks, one reason we are interacting as a group today.
