3 EDM Operation MOUNTING n The RED MINI mounts on the theodolite.

4 EDM Operation SIGHTING n Obtain an approximate siting using the gun sight n Sight the prism with the siting telescope n Sight the center of the prism accurately

5 EDM Operation MEASURING n Turn the power on n Confirm that the RED MINI is operational n Press the MEAS. switch to start measurement n Press the MEAS. switch to end measurement n Turn the power off

6 EDM Operation TURN THE POWER ON n Press the power switch

7 EDM Operation TURN THE POWER ON n There will be a short audio tone and the display will look like: n This display will last for about 2 seconds.

8 EDM Operation TURN THE POWER ON n If the battery voltage is adequate the display will change to: n n If the batter voltage is too low the display will change to:

9 EDM Operation CONFIRM THAT RED MINI IS READY n When the center of the reflecting prism is correctly sighted, the asterisk mark lights up on the display indicating that the light intensity is correct for a measurement. n The “F” indicates that the measurement will be made in feet.

10 EDM Operation START MEASUREMENT n Press the MEAS. switch to start measurement

11 EDM Operation START MEASUREMENT n A short audio tone is heard when the RED MINI starts the measurement n The triangle in the lower left corner flashes during measurement n When the measurement is completed, a short audio tone sounds and the value is displayed

12 EDM Operation END MEASUREMENT n The RED MINI will continue to take measurements until the MEAS. switch is pressed again n then the last measurement is displayed
