LAT EMI TESTING: BUILDING BLOCKS

THE QUESTION What is the lowest equipment level that can be tested and produce meaningful data?

ELECTRONICS (1 of 2) RE/RS/CE/CS/CM

ELECTRONICS (2 of 2) RE/RS/CE/CS/CM

CALORIMETER RE/RS/CE/CM

TRACKER RE/RS/CE/CM

ACD RE/RS/CE/CM

PLANS FOR LAT EQUIPMENT Review the proposed set of tests (RE/RS/…) for each piece of equipment or groups of equipment as depicted on slides 3 thru 7 (Are the proposals reasonable?) Next review the proposed test setup/configuration for each piece of equipment or groups of equipment as depicted on slides 3 thru 7

TEST PREPARATION Prepare a test plan/procedure for each piece of equipment or groups of equipment as depicted on slides 3 thru 7 The test plan/procedure must be reviewed and approved by the LAT Project Office prior to the commencement of any testing

TEST PREPARATION (cont’d) All necessary precautions will be taken for the safe handling and operation of space flight equipment CS06 - Survive testing is restricted to non- flight hardware as called out in 5.4 [4] of the 0005 document

THE NEXT LEVEL What is the next level of testing that can be done and provides meaningful data and risk mitigation? For example, assume the Tracker test from chart 6 is one tower, then would the follow on test be two towers? Is any other combination of towers useful other than 16? etc.

LAT EMI LEVELS OF TESTING

SAI TEST PLAN The Spectrum Astro EMI Test Plan (CDRL K) was received on 4/9/04 The Plan is ITAR restricted and Spectrum Astro company proprietary Copy has been forwarded to D. Nelson for review
