Transport Project on Gender Sensitivity Gender Constraints Inadequate statistical data (GDD) Religious and cultural barriers Not mandatory or regulatory requirements Varying needs analysis for different gender groups – it’s not standard across the board Gender Opportunities Cross learning between nations, institutions, sectors etc Using existing data and literature Human capital (gender/social development specialist) Existing good will for gender norms reform across the world (dynamic society) Gender Responsiveness/Analysis Components in a Project Project management committee and other structures enhance equal or acceptable participation of both men and women Facilities that address the needs of both men & women or boys & girls Scheduling of project activities to address gender gaps & to suit into the needs of men & women ESMP – though the focus tend to focus more on environmental issues than gender issues
