Three Br atomic lines are identified: 2P3/2 <-<- 2P3/2: (NIST value) 2P1/2<-<-2P3/2 : (NIST value) 4S3/2<-<-2P3/2: (NIST value) It is worth noticing that these Br lines are all in the vicinity of HBr moleculer lines: Br linesClosest HBr lines/ spacing(cm-1) 2P3/2 <-<- 2P3/2: J´´=0, H1S+, v´=0, S serie / P1/2<-<-2P3/2 : J´´=6, V(1S+),v´=m+8, Q series / S3/2<-<-2P3/2: ? / +3.6 This suggests that Br is formed by predissociation of Rdberg states analogous to what is found for CH3Br and CF3Br.
