Unit Plan Summary Through this unit, students will be exposed to various aspects of the Holocaust through multicultural texts and first hand accounts of this period in history. This integrated unit crosses curricula in being taught in science, math, language arts, and social studies. Students will participate in blogging, using Google Sketch Up, and discussion boards to help create a better understanding of the individual perspectives throughout WWII.

Essential Question What can one person do to change their community and the world?

Unit QuestionsContent Questions Which individual perspective from WWII is most relevant to my life? How can we learn from the Holocaust to prevent or impact genocide today? What actions were taken by these individuals to change their community?

Benefits of Using Project Approaches, Ongoing Assessment, and CFQs in My Unit Students will learn to write in an authentic setting through blogging Students will engage in self-assessment through the use of KWHL charts, therefore encouraging an investment in their own learning. Through this integrated unit, students will understand the relatedness of various content areas.
