The Noun Phrase :Postnominal Modifiers In a noun phrase, modifier can be in the position after the noun phrase. Those modifiers are called postnominal modifiers. Ex: The apartment, spotlessly clean The apartment, large and empty From the example above the word clean, large and empty are the postnominal modifiers

Forms of Postnominal Modifiers 1.Modified Adjective Ex : The mailman exuberantly happy, whistled merrily. 2. Compounded adjective Ex; The mail carrier, weary and wet, trudged along in the train. 3. Non-suffixing word Ex : The people upstairs 4. Adverb Ex: My meaning exactly. 5. Noun phrase adjectival Ex; The party last night
