This is the ball rolling on the table for 3 sec and rolls 10 cm/sec and then rolling back -5cm/sec….. Remember I stated that this can be done by common sense or with the equations…well, here is the equation way of doing it.

This is the information that was given in the problem. This is what you are asked to solve for. This is what you are missing. Start by calculating velocity of given information Now substitute into average velocity equation and solve for Vf. Once you solve for Vf then plug into acceleration equation. Final answer should be….0.02 m/s 2 Note: I did not conduct shortcuts on algebra so all steps are in there including substitutions.

This is the continuation from last question. It now wants to know what is the velocity of the object after 5 sec. Since you now know the acceleration and Vi and time is 5 sec….all you need to do is plug into equation again and solve for Vf.
