Presentation transcript:

 The first assignment is a group portfolio  Worth 60% of the final mark for the module  You will work in groups of four (to be confirmed in class this week)  To be presented and submitted in Week 12 (date tbc)

 You will be asked to develop a comprehensive event proposal consisting of a creative portfolio  Each group’s portfolio will be different  Your portfolio will pitch your event idea  You will have 15 minutes for your presentation  You are encouraged to be creative with both your portfolio and your ideas but remember that this has to be practical!

 Your portfolio may include (but is not limited to): › Powerpoint/prezzi/poster presentation › Story/mood boards › Social networking presence and associated campaign strategy › Draft marketing material (this may be for advance marketing or for during the event itself › Floorplans, photos, etc › Written event proposal (2-3 pages)

WildHearts are looking for a creative agency to develop a student event for 300 people which will raise awareness of the work that they do while also making money for the charity. The event must appeal to a student market while reflecting the WildHearts brand and vision. WildHearts are open to suggestions as to the format and structure of this event.

 Scottish based charity which aims to fight economic injustice and help to solve poverty  The charity was founded by serial entrepreneur Mick Jackson  The nightmare that inspired a dream…

 Business has too long been associated with causing many of the worlds problems but now it can be part of the solution. Can you imagine how different things could be if the business community resolved to get serious about solving the issues we face?  WildHearts combines entrepreneurial expertise with compassion, philanthropy and sustainability.  WildHearts aims to confront the dependency culture in all its forms. They do not pity the poor, they empower them. They possess an unquenchable belief in the creativity and resilience of the human spirit and attempt to give the poor a hand up not a hand out.

Without access to credit a business cannot grow. Yet billions of the world's poorest people are excluded from conventional banking. WildHearts address this by funding microloans enabling the poor to work their way out of poverty with dignity. A WildHearts Trust Group brings together between people who all guarantee one anothers loans. After a period of six weeks business training, the first loans are issued. Once one member of a Trust Group repays their loan, the money is used to fund another business within the group. At 99% repayment rates, loans are recycled every four months enabling WildHearts to multiply the impact of its initial investment exponentially.

 Wildhearts is made up of two main elements › Wildhearts in Action enables companies to help those in need without it affecting their operations or bottom line. › WildHeart Events organises inspirational sports events aimed at helping to get people fit, build a stronger community and help them to do their bit to fight global poverty.

 The Wolftrek › Annual 45 mile team trek from the magical Moray Coast to monstrous Cairngorm Mountain › Teams raise sponsorship  WeeWalks › Seeks to address poor diet and obesity › Kids are sponsored to eat five a day in the run up to the event  WildHeart Adventurers › Dynamic people undertaking epic challenges around the world

 Remember, your event must match with the overall aims and values of WildHearts  Think out of the box but remember, your suggestions must be feasible  Your portfolio should aid and support the written proposal  We’re not just looking for the initial idea, you need to think about how you will actually design the event and be innovative in getting people to take part…  Don’t just give us the usual student events!
