2 Grants.gov Accepts Two Submission Types Through PureEdge software –an application format provided by Grants.gov or System-to-System (S2S) transmission of electronic documents –EGMS will have this capability S2S is the preferred method EGMS will be the preferred method at UMN

3 Status of EGMS S2S Working to enable the ability to prepare new R01 applications to NIH for the February 2007 deadline Expect to have EGMS ready in December 2006 so that you can start preparing your applications in EGMS Specific training classes on using EGMS to prepare NIH R01 applications will start in November, 2006

4 …..Status of EGMS S2S if you want this –Put EGMS S2S training in the subject line Focus will be on showing how to use EGMS – not PureEdge – –Standard PureEdge training sessions will continue

5 EGMS connection with Grants.gov For NIH proposals choose 424 R&R Family and complete your proposal in EGMS as normal For NIH proposals choose 424 R&R Family and complete your proposal in EGMS as normal

6 EGMS connection with Grants.gov EGMS will have an updated Preview Form screen with forms available as shown

7 Process of Submission to SPA for EGMS S2S applications Complete your proposal forms in EGMS Upload the PDF attachments not generated by EGMS When everything is ready, –i.e. entire proposal - forms and all the attachments – are in EGMS – SPA – Subject line of – PRF #, PI name, and EGMS # No attachments to , since SPA GA can access the entire proposal and PRF in EGMS
