About Reiki: Reiki creates deep relaxation, releases tension and stress, and assists your body’s self-healing abilities. Science and medicine have proven the toll that stress has on the body. The body will produce harmful chemicals when it is stressed, whether it is real or imagined. Reiki will reduce the stress and therefore will help the body to release those toxic chemicals and may, in turn, reduce the occurrence of stress related illness.

It is not a Massage. This ancient art of stress reduction, discovered in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui over one hundred years ago is a gentle but powerful ‘hands-on’ technique which restores the natural balance of the body, providing deep relaxation and bringing a sense of peace and wellbeing. Clients remain fully clothed and can receive a Reiki session lying down or sitting in a chair. Sessions range from minutes in length. It complements the healing properties of all modalities including orthodox medicine, natural therapies such as herbs, aromatherapy and homoeopathy, massage, acupuncture, psychotherapy and others and can be given in conjunction with any other therapy or treatment.

Reiki is the Japanese word, defined as being that power or force or energy, which acts and lives in all created matter. Everything in our world is vibrating with energy. Einstein described matter as a form of energy. Everything is made up of molecules, and molecules consist of atoms that are in a permanent state of change. Their movement gives off energy. Hence everything – humans, animals, a tree, a table, or a stone- all give off energy.

How Does Reiki Work? Reiki helps dissolve tension at the physical, mental and emotional level. Release in tension permits removal of toxins and blockages enhancing a normal flow of energy in all areas. Once the natural balance is restored the body is more able to receive, store and use more energy. Reiki triggers an intensive process of purification, stimulates the body to heal, resulting in a process of rejuvenation and relaxation. Though all people must experience this their own unique way.

Reiki is not a religion. Reiki is a wonderful starting point for all journeys into your own self. Reiki stimulates you in your own development. Reiki connection is a unique healing art. The essence of Reiki is love emanating joy and life. Attached to this are two more important energies of truth and freedom. Yet, the most important is love, the love of God who has given us the freedom to have our own experiences, to feel truth and divinity and be able to embrace love and perception and thereby contribute to the living growth of the universe in its entirety. Reiki is very simple to carry out as nothing other than your hands are required to carry it out. It can safely be used at any time, in any place and for anything. To practice Reiki no faith or belief is required. It is successfully used by people of different religions, philosophies and ages. It is for everyone. We are all born with this Holy Spirit energy, but our reactions to life cause us to become less open, with the result that the natural flow of energy is less pure and less available. Our personality, that is our ego or false self, is the filter for the energy. Practicing Reiki can enable us to shift into a harmonious state at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels of being. * Where ever there is love: hostility and tension cease. This is why acute inflammations cease under the effect of reiki. For they are symptoms of conflict bound to erupt when you resist life, and blockages occur. Reiki opens other, more harmonious pathways thus dissolving blockages.
